I-1098 is a sensible reform getting rid of the poorly thought out B&O tax for small businesses, providing a reduction in property taxes and adding an income tax on the top 3% of income earners in the state. This graphic to the right doesn’t make one proud to be a Washingtonian. And a big part of the reason is Washington, like Florida, has no state income tax. So the sales taxes, the property taxes and all the other “taxes” just keep climbing on the poor while the rich get richer.
