    Hahahaha – Good One!

Below is a fundraising appeal from Representative Baird:

    Dear John,

The Primary election of last month brought good news and new challenges.

The good news is that with your help we prevailed in the primary in the 3rd Congressional District with a majority vote in a field of four candidates. I am grateful for that result and for your support in making it possible.

    Our new [...]

    back-to-school

This time of year is especially hard for parents when gas and food are already overwhelming the family budget.

    From The Columbian this morning:

Bernie Gerhardt is in a pickle. Every year, an elderly donor has given the local office of the state’s Division of Children and Family Services about $6,000 for low-income children to buy new back-to-school clothes.

But for some reason — Gerhardt doesn’t know why [...]

    pco invite

FWIW, I just received this email from the Clark County Dems Central Committee:

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN BECOMING A PRECINCT COMMITTEE OFFICER (PCO)?

You should have received your ballot in the mail already. If you want to be more involved and become a PCO, look on your ballot and see if there is a Democratic PCO in your precinct or not. If the space is blank, write [...]

    Wexler – Help Me Impeach

    Dear xxxx,

    I need your help:

My strong and vocal stands in favor of impeaching President Bush and Vice President Cheney have made me a target.  I am now under siege by the right wing, who are working hard to defeat me and silence the causes that we believe in.

In the eyes of the right wing, I am seen, along with Rep. Kucinich, as one of [...]

    in which i grow gills

I thought, having presumed that Hillary Clinton would not concede, that nothing in her speech could phase me last night.

Boy, was I wrong. Bile and white hot disgust threatened to bypass my clamped jaws and erupt out the sides of my neck as Clinton trilled me, me, me with nary a word for Obama’s nomination:

Now, the question is: Where do we go from here? [...]

    More on Time’s Joe Klein…

…and his apparently willful inability to get it right on FISA legislation and the Dems :
After being called to task last week for writing a dangerously misinformed column on changes to the nation’s spying laws, Klein concedes that he might have made a mistake when he said a House bill would “require the surveillance of every foreign-terrorist target’s calls to be approved by the FISA [...]
