Given the state of the Federal budget deficit, this just makes me sick (from Think Progress):

Ed Schultz said today that governors and state legislatures should do what they can to prop up the auto makers to give consumers an incentive to buy cars. He was suggested a tax credit for buying a car made in the U.S.

(1) Figure out how much money is past-due on all those “bad” mortgages (it has to be less than $700 Billion) and LOAN that money to the banks to get them through this “crisis”;
