    Saturday Music Clip

Not only am I blatantly ripping of Crooks N’ Liar’s idea of posting music clips on Saturday night, but this one is in response to a song they have a video up on right now (The Clash doing Rock the Casbah).

Algerian/French singer Rachid Taha covered this song recently, brilliantly recapitulating this hit by British band The Clash as an Arabic song that seems to call for secular sanity in the heart of Islam. Clip includes Clash guitarist Mick Jones playing with Taha. The pair also played the song at the Stop the War Coalition benefit concert last year in the UK with Brian Eno on keyboards.
