Lieberman is a turncoat. He is the worst of worst, a complete sellout to the special interests. He is a symbol of what has gone wrong with our government.
Howard Dean is so right here. There is compromise and then there is capitulation. The latter is what has happened to health care reform in the Senate. Is anyone surprised?
I’d like to know how without this bill according to Obama, “your premiums will continue to go up”. From my read of the bill, your premiums will continue to go up WITH the bill. And faster. For those required to buy health insurance, their premiums are certainly going to go up. As Dean says, “there is no cost control”.
This is what happens when you try to merge narrow, profit driven interests of health insurers with the broad, common interests of “the people”. Failure. Especially when the Senate is being legally bribed by special interests. Now can we get some public financing legislation, better regulation of lobbyists and media reform? Maybe then we can get a decent health care reform bill passed. This has all been a wasteful distraction from our bigger problems, namely the taking over of our government by corporate interests.
Excuse me Dr. Dean, but I do blame Lieberman and the others who are blocking real reform. Ron Reagan on Lieberman:
