    Random Recitals

Of all forms of government and society, those of free men and women are in many respects the most brittle. They give the fullest freedom for activities of private persons and groups who often identify their own interests, essentially selfish, with the general welfare.

    2008 Candidates

Let's just say today were the caucuses, not next February. Let's say your candidates were the following:

    Senator Joseph Biden
    Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton
    Senator Chris Dodd
    Former Senator John Edwards
    Former Senator Mike Gravel
    Representative Dennis Kucinich
    Senator Barack Obama
    Governor Bill Richardson

    Who would you vote for?

I believe it's time for us to take the opportunity and develop a platform, even if it's only in the sense of what we're looking for in a candidate. Some of us have done this already – most notably bushtool. Let's at least begin narrowing down our list, so we can find out who to devote our resources, limited as they are, to helping.

I don’t care if any of the rest win except for Kucinich or Gravel. I’d prefer one of the above win and Kucinich or Gravel be the VP. Therefore will not do anything to help the others. I’d probably vote for Edwards in the general. Other than that, I will stay home. And if that happens, it will be the first time since 1972.

My top to bottom choices today if it were instant runoff voting would be:

      Kucinich
      Gravel
      Edwards
      Obama
      Richardson
      Biden
      Dodd
      Clinton

    • Could the republicans have ever picked a better year to lock up the presidency after the Bush mess?
