This graphic to the right doesn’t make one proud to be a Washingtonian. And a big part of the reason is Washington, like Florida, has no state income tax. So the sales taxes, the property taxes and all the other “taxes” just keep climbing on the poor while the rich get richer.
Oregon needs a sales tax and they need to use some of the money to expand their road capacities, at least around Portland. Washington State needs an income tax and they need to use some of the money to ease the tax burden on the poor. Washington State should also repeal the B&O tax which is a flawed and anti-business tax.
There, I said it. These are simple answers to serious problems. But will either tax be enacted? You know the answer. I can hear you yelling from here.
