Apocalypse Now?

Given Ms. Palin’s religious background, here is a question for the debate tomorrow,  “Do you believe the end of the world will happen soon, say in your lifetime?”  It would seem rather important that we find this out before she possibly gets her finger on The Button. Do you think this is a fair question?

hairy eyeball

McCain’s left eye droop could be a TIA (a small stroke) or Bell’s Palsy, though that usually affects one whole side of the face (droopy jowls, drooling, etc.).
The other possibility is that McCain has developed a Queeg-like tic, and they shot him up with botox to keep him from looking totally insane.
I’m sure Cindy’s got [...]

the bigots are running scared

in Newberg:
Administrators at George Fox University are trying to figure out who hung what appears to be a life-sized effigy of Barack Obama outside a college campus in Newburg.
It appeared whoever did it, had a specific target.
The attached message referred to the Act Six program at George Fox University, which is a scholarship program for [...]

slow on the uptake

You all are probably way out ahead of me on this, but I just realized that the 700 Billion Dollar Plan makes a great October Surprise (albeit in late September) - it has all the fear necessary to push voters’ buttons, with the plausible deniability of “We’d never play politics with something so serious.”

Is there really no hope for this country, after all? It now appears so.
In January of 2003, John Le Carre wrote that, “America [...]

a modest proposal

In light of Ohio 2004 & Florida 2000, why don’t the Dems propose a simple, one line law that requires all voting precincts in all states to preserve election ballots for two years? If we have to do it for the IRS, why not make election officials?
I don’t post often on election fraud because [...]

I’m lucky. I have health insurance, and my employer pays 100% of the premium. We don’t cover spouses or dependents, but we’re a small company.
I have used my health insurance much more than the average American: since I joined the company in late 1995, I’ve had a pregnancy, a c-section, a miscarriage that [...]
