CALL TO IRAQ VETS AND THEIR FAMILIES
We are a writer and photographer team collaborating on a project about recently returned soldiers from the war in Iraq. We are seeking soldiers or ex-soldiers who have spent time in Iraq and are willing to speak about their experiences with a focus on the process of re-entry or reintegration.
Our desire is to create a very full and human portrait about each chosen participant and what their process of ‘re-entry’ into the States has been. We would like to express that we are explicitly not interested in pushing a specific agenda or editorial view.
Through individual stories and pictures we hope to create greater awareness and understanding of the impact this war has had on the lives of those who have fought in it. At this point, we don’t know if this will be a book, magazine article and/or exhibit, but we feel that the stories need to become part of our history.
We would also appreciate any information about veteran’s groups or other resources.
If interested, please write to us at the email address below and tell us a little about your organization. If recent Vet, time served, how long you’ve been back, and what your life is like now. Nothing will be publish without your consent.
Thank you for your time and consideration,
Jim Lommasson and Blair Holt
