Democracy for Vancouver

Move-On has designated May 28, 2008 for the Bush – McCain Challenge. We will be at Esther Short at noon that day handing out flyers for the Challenge. We will be playing the Bush- McCain challenge which is similar to the Pepsi – Coke challenge.

Here’s a summary of how the Bush-McCain Challenge works.

* On Wednesday, May 28th — our national day of action we will have one person at the table, and all others will fan out nearby with flyers.
* The idea is to ask those who walk nearby to play the Bush-McCain Challenge. They can take it at the table or with a “Roving Challenger” away from the table.
* To play, they’ll hear 5 questions, and they have to guess the answer — McCain, Bush, or both.
* We will give out candy as a prize for playing, and extra flyers so people can spread the word to friends and family.
* We will be at Esther Short Park during lunch that day we are looking for volunteers for this location. We also need someone to provide a folding chair and card table that they could bring to the event. However, if you cannot be there and would like to participate in this at your workplace or some other public location in Vancouver I would be glad to email PDF copies of the flyers and other items. Move On has already compiled questions and answers, along with other materials that I can email copies of.

Please let me know by Friday, May 23rd, if you can volunteer at Esther Short, or if you would like to set up at a different location and need materials to do so.

With Bush’s popularity at an all time low, tying McCain to his failed policies or pointing out his own stand on unpopular positions will help to get a Democrat in the White House next January. We need to start working towards that goal now.
