Democracy for Vancouver

Our son L. knows how I cherish my few weekly hours with Sam Seder on Sunday afternoons by the way he has to beg to get me out of the house or car. Losing Morning Sedition and the Majority Report was bad, but when AAR put Sam into Al Franken’s morning slot it was almost worse: Sam was there, but I couldn’t listen (adult life in the working world sucks).

So I felt some twisted sense of joy when the second stupidest fucking guy on the face of the earth, Mark Green, moved Sam to Sundays; it was only a 3-hour slot, but for those three hours I could have my Sammy fix.

Now Randi’s gone, and the twisted hope returns that maybe, just maybe, Green will listen and give Sam back the full-employment airtime that he deserves - and we (or at least I) crave. I would still only get one hour of Sam a day (damn that work again), but five a week is better than three, and L. would be thrilled not to have Sammy cutting into his Sunday enthusiasms.

Sam has made no secret about his support for Obama, and the Greens are Clintonistas going was back, so it may be pie-in-the-sky. But it’s sunny here in Vancouver, with weather forecast to break 70°F today - so I’m willing to be a little optimistic.
