Note to The Columbian:
Unless there’s some epidemic I’m unaware of, updates on women hospitalized after years being adhered to their toilet seats are not page A3 material.
And Richard Widmark may have been the shizzit back in the 50s, but for FSM’s sake he died at age 93 after decades in retirement. Is he really A3 material? Isn’t this something better suited to the Life section, under all those celebrity gossip tidbits?
Iraq is exploding into new violence and we’ve got a GOP presidential candidate and a president who each think everything’s just dandy over there, and a media that can’t be bothered even to figure out who the players are; the economy is in the crapper and all indications are it won’t be improving anytime soon, while the preznit and his treasury secretary spew happy horseshit about tax rebates to tame the masses; and, we have two serious Dem presidential candidates but not nearly enough focus on policy in the media to move the discussion off the personality/race/gender train.
C’mon, guys - you’re the Fourth Estate, remember?
