Even my 9 y.o. understands what it means to let one sparring combatant have 4 months of rest, while on the other side neither of the bloodied and exhausted semi-finalists has enough advantage to close the bracket.

Obama is my choice by default; I’m an Edwards gal who can’t find the stomach to support Clinton (and her attacks of the last few weeks have confirmed my gut feeling, that the Clintons are more about winning and power than rebuilding this country and this democracy). I’m not swooning for Obama - I just want a somewhat trustworthy Dem who can win in November.

I suspect that Hillary still truly believes that she can win, whatever the numbers say (I can’t imagine the capacity for self-delusion it must take just to run for president in this country). And I know Bill Clinton believes the Oval Office is somehow hers by right. But Howard Dean needs to stop this NOW. We cannot afford another 7 weeks of rope-a-dope between these two, while St. John stands on the sidelines, pristine and presidential.

This morning, Oregon Rep. Peter DeFazio said on KPOJ that his preference would be for both candidates to turn their sights on McCain, and let the electorate in the remaining states judge Clinton and Obama in comparison to the general election rival, rather than each other. I’d love to believe that the Clintons were capable of such restraint, but Hillary’s recent behavior and comments say otherwise.

Gov. Dean, this is your moment. Think of your legacy if this slugfest continues until the PA primary April 22, and McCain wins in November.

Very well said Slim.

Howard Dean had the grace to bow out even though he could have won California and New York. He said at the time that it was more important that someone have the best shot possible to take out Bush than it was for him to become the next president. (Of course he had also run out of money and been skewered by the media, neither problems besetting our current crop of candidates.

It never ceases to amaze me how people will vote against their own best interests.

They would probably re-elect the Bush crime family again (with a little of the usual voter fraud help) if that pesky little amendment were not in the way.

It is a flat out grievous insult for Hillary to be asking Obama, when by ALL measures he is ahead, to accept the VP slot. But I guess what can you expect from … nope, I am not going to say it.
