The bill before the state legislature to allow local jurisdictions to use voluntary, “clean election” type, voter approved public funding of campaigns passed through the state house this evening and now goes to Gregoire’s desk for enactment into law.
As Craig Salins, Executive Director of Washington Public Campaigns, said after passage today:
… one huge stride toward democracy by people instead of money. This is how we will REALLY advance a people’s agenda in America.
A big thank you to the state legislators, the Washington Public Campaign organization and all the people who supported this effort.
