MOGADISHU, Somalia: U.S. naval forces fired missiles into southern Somalia on Monday, aiming at what the Defense Department called terrorist targets.
Residents and the police in the southern town of Dobley said a home had been destroyed and at least eight people, including four children, seriously injured. The U.S. has carried out strikes in Somalia in the past year amid fears that the country could become a haven for terrorists.
Because attacking a militarily overmatched and economically desperate third-world nation has never led it to become a haven for terrorists.
