Reminder: Move-on monthly meeting date and place has changed

The Operation Democracy - MoveOn meeting has changed location and the day of the week. The meeting is this Saturday from 9am to 11am at the Parsley Recreational Center located 4100 Plomondon St. Vancouver 98661 off Falk Rd. between Hwy. 500 and Fourth Plain Blvd. map

As those of you who attended caucuses experienced first hand, there is an unprecedented level of energy and involvement of citizens in the political process this year. This presents a rare opportunity to get our issues on the agenda and ensure that they will be dealt with by the legislature in the next session. But we first need to identify the issues that are most important to us, and develop a strategy for ensuring that our elected representatives will address them.

With that in mind, David Carrier plans to initiate discussions about crafting a platform of the 6 most important issues that we want addressed by our state legislators and candidates for office in our area and ask that our representatives explain their positions and goals with regard to each of those issues. David’s plan is to build a community of activists that will help guide our legislators on issues that are of the most concern to us perhaps with also creating a local website to publish the platform and the position statements from each legislator. Please come to the meeting with your concerns and goals about state issues that you would like attended to by our state elected leaders and candidates.
