Cost of the War Per Gallon

Cost of War From 2002-2008=$1.6 Trillion

1) Total Miles Driven in America in 2005=$4.07 Trillion, OECD Statistics

2) Average Fuel Efficiency for All Vehicles in America= 17.2 mpg, according to Dept of Energy

3) Average Fuel Consumed for Vehicle Transportation per year(#1 / #2)= 236 Billion Gallons

So the average cost of the war per gallon IN ADDITION TO current prices at the pump=$6.79

Now I have two questions:

1) When are those that drive going to start paying the true cost of their oil?

2) Will they be willing to pay it?

*Caveat: That doesn’t even account for the future costs of taking care of our returning vets.
