who would you never vote for for president?

From a recent Zogby poll, when asked the question “Who would you never vote for for President?” respondents answered:

zogby poll

Unfortunately, I’ll have to vote for Hillary if she’s the nominee, because I could never vote for any of the Republicans on offer. In fact, the only Republican I think I could ever vote for in good conscience had his seat taken by Katherine Harris when he retired.

My feelings for Biden are also ambivalent at best, but I’d vote for him if I had to.

Who would you never vote for for President?

  1. Kucinich is great on just about all the issues. But the couple of times I have seen him in person he has not impressed me with his presence. I think that is a quality that is important.

Clinton II is just a soul-less power monger who will blow whatever way the wind blows, much like Clinton I. She might surprise us if the mood of the country shifts to the progressive side of things since she will follow whichever way she thinks her bread is buttered on. But I will not vote for her because I don’t believe she shares my values or for that matter has any to share.

Gravel is actually my preferred choice because he doesn’t try to BS anyone and has some great ideas. But I think he may be too old and too good-hearted to be effective in the position. He could become ineffective like Carter became. Doesn’t matter because big media will never allow him to be President.

Edwards has the brains and talks good on most of the issues, and has the persona. It just seems hard for me to believe he is what he presents himself to be. He seems too chameleon-like.

Obama is a wildcard. He strikes me much like Hillary, an opportunist without real values. Don’t feel like I know him enough to really evaluate him.

The rest of them I either have ignored or don’t care much one way or another.

I would actually like to see Giuliani get elected. I think he would be an absolute disaster for our country. And that would mean things would get worse quicker. And that would mean people would have to start doing something to fix things sooner. A progressive like me actually considering Giuliani doesn’t say much for the state of our politics or our country.

Many of our problems of today are of the kind that if we wait too long, we may not ever be able to fix them. For example, global warming scientists already are telling us is many ways the damage is irreversible. We need a crisis of such magnitude in this country that it will force us to stop dodging our problems and start fixing them. Giuliani is the best candidate for causing just such a crisis sooner rather than later. If the crisis comes later, it will be harder to come out of it and fix things.

An analogy would be like contracting the flu. When you are young, getting the flu can be little more than a nuisance. But when you are older it can kill you. I want our country to catch the flu before it kills us.

I know the conclusion sounds insane but you have to admit there is a method to my madness.

    Giuliani for President!

  2. Forgot to mention I would never vote for Clinton, McCain and Romney.

And forgot to mention Dodd. I’d vote for him. He is terrific on most issues.

If 50% of people will never vote for Clinton II that means she will have to steal the election or get those that will not vote for her to stay home. And the Republicans seem to be doing a good job of the latter.

With a 50% disapproval rating, all it will take is for the Rs to nominate someone that appeals to Ds (if that is possible anymore) to take her out.

  3. Having been in both major parties, the outcome is we are going to be told who our choices are whether they make sense to us or not.

I tend to like some of the 2nd and 3rd tier candidates for their honesty and good intentions. It would be a fluke if either party chose any of them.
