Lately the city of Vancouver has been under a cloud of suspicion and controversy:
- Enacting a regressive business tax based on # of employees
- Suspicious sales of city owned properties
- Disputes with county officials over annexation
- Promoting light rail without resident consultation
- Interfering in another city’s affairs (La Center)
Pat Campbell is running for Vancouver city council for the position currently held by Dan Tonkovich.
If you speak with Pat as I have done many times or if you go to his website, http://www.patservesus.com/, you will see that he is not someone who dodges the issues, speaks in generalities or uses doublespeak. I don’t always agree with Pat on the issues, but I know where he stands on matters impacting our community and why. I am so tired of politicians who say things like, “I am for better jobs, better roads, better schools” etc. Isn’t everyone? I look for leaders who share my values, state clearly their positions and know what they intend to accomplish once they are elected.
If you have been paying attention, it is clear change is needed in how the city of Vancouver is being governed.
Be an informed voter. Find out about who is running and what their specific goals are for the city. If you do so, I think you will conclude as I have that Pat will bring more “Pride, Progress, and Possibilities” to Vancouver.
