I am in full agreement with Pat Campbell. We can change the direction of Vancouver and make it a city that serves people. Both Pat and I believe the same basic principle that governments are supposed to serve people all the time not make it appear that way when your running for reelection. We need change and we need it now. You deserve to be represented.

When the city council directs lobbyist Brown to seek such legislation bypassing the voters there is a problem. Mr. Brown does not just go up to Olympia on his own as some would like you to think now that they are up for reelection. Please give Charlie and me your vote. Thanks, Pat

It isn't the same situation as the Port because it was the state legislators that created the law to create a special taxing district for the city of Vancouver. It is the state government creating a law giving the ok for the city of Vancouver to tax you and me without the due process of voting. The city already had that authority but didn't want to put it up for a public vote for fear of it being defeated.

Charlie,

Do you know if it is subject to the same regulations as a Port District? If so we could petition like we did for the Port...(not that I'm against services if provided, ie living wage/union jobs and transportation, but it seems to me if all were doing with the money is giving land to the Angelo family, well maybe it is time to dry up the spigot. At least until we regular people start reaping some of the tax perks.
