Nice try, Br’er Bush:
WASHINGTON - President Bush, breaking his rule not to talk about presidential politics, says he believes Hillary Rodham Clinton will defeat Barack Obama in the Democratic presidential primaries.
…
“I believe our candidate can beat her but it’s going to be a tough race,” the president said.
Because if he thinks Hillary will win, then she must be the best candidate to defeat the GOP; and if she’s the best candidate to defeat the GOP, then we better all line up behind her, right?
Here’s a little piece of advice for you, George, free of charge: a politician generally has to show consistent good judgment before Democrats will give credence to anything s/he says. I know that’s not how it works with Republicans, but then what do you expect from a bunch of codpiece-worshippers?
