A Newsletter for the Overburdened Taxpayers of Vancouver Washington

Public Statements
Yesterday, there was an interview by Jeff Mize at the CVTV studio of both my opponent and I. It was a very interesting question and answer session and I believe that all will find our answers interesting. It will be broadcast today at 5PM on channel 23 and on the city’s website. It will show that in my opponent we have a tax and spend politician. It is proven by his record of the past three and a half years. Recently he supported Prop 1 to tax your home for six years with no discernable benefit to you the tax payer. He also approved giving away city property valued at over 3 million dollars for 200,000 dollars to a favored downtown redeveloper after accepting two campaign contributions from him.
Political signs don’t make a candidate nor show the character of leadership that benefits the folks represented. It is the candidate’s respect of the people they serve. That is the reason that I won’t be part of the cronyism that is rampant at city hall at the present time. That is part of the reason the city has a problem in communicating with not only their citizens but also Clark County. There is arrogance in the air that is less than humble. Any elected official is there to do one thing effectively. It is to diligently serve the people they represent.
It will be my pleasure to meet with as many people as possible in the next few weeks. I’m very interested in your thoughts and ideas of the problems and possible solutions in this political race for a change for better government in Vancouver. You have a right to be right to be represented; special interests don’t have that right.
A new video voter’s guide for my campaign has been made and will be released on CVTV tomorrow September 20, 2007 at 5:30PM. You should find this interesting.
