Lived in Florida for 26 years. One of my music stores was on SR580 in Clearwater. Used to go to Bradenton Beach and Anna Maria quite frequently. Had a few "lost weekends" on Anna Maria. I grew up in Bradenton (home of Tropicana!), on the south side of Tampa Bay. I had a friend that lived in the strip of mangrove swamp and fill between the mainland and Anna Maria Island; the swamp was prime mosquito breeding territory. Whenever I spent the night at her house, we'd hear the buzz of the malathion helicopters coming over to spray at 6am. Between that and all of the lawn fertilizer I must have inhaled doing yardwork over the springs, summers and falls, I'm amazed I am without asthma/allergies.
