"It is important for all people to have significant influence in our democratic process, whether or not they make contributions to political campaigns," Probst said in a statement. "Every voice counts."
Thanks Tim for your efforts on this.
As mentioned in an earlier post on this website, the Washington State Democratic Party recently endorsed the clean election system of campaign finance reform and asked all state elected officials to become familiar with the system and to support legislation to make it a reality in Washington State.
WPC is currently conducting a Clean Campaigns Petition to educate people on how "clean campaigns" works. If you don't already know about this movement and how it is going to restore real democracy to our country, please visit their website at http://www.washclean.org and sign up on their email list. You can also download the Clean Campaigns Petition and start obtaining signatures on their behalf. There is also a petition available to sign at the Vancouver for Peace table on Saturday mornings at the Vancouver Farmer's Market.
Folks, clean elections can fix our political system. Most of our governance failures of today can be attributed to the harmful influence of special interest money. But implementation of a clean election system will not happen without your support. If you are not part of this "solution, you are part of the problem". Nowadays we must do more than just vote to get our country back on track. Our system is broken, very broken. Let's fix it.
WPC is also forming a local chapter in Clark County. If you would like to lead that effort, send an email to Craig Salins - wpc@washclean.org
