I've been thinking about this myself. Even more so since seeing SICKO. How would one apply this to oneself in local politics?

I get my basic care at VA. I'm not covered for emergencies as I have no medical insurance since retiring from the state. Way too expensive. My wife has employer provided medical insurance. Where would she (we) be if she lost her job?

One of the positions I've taken is to ensure the Free Clinic is open 7 days per week. www.patservesus.com That is only a start on a much bigger local problem. I am a believer that local solutions might be just the right place to start. After all, Kaiser started out right here in Vancouver.

It's great to see him ask his question, which is a great one, and in such a polite fashion; there will be no distractions from anywhere now if it ever sees the light of day.
