I just saw Michael Moore's Sicko. It was great seeing it in a crowded theater on a Friday afternoon. Like watching Fahrenheit 911, hearing a whole room full of people gasp in exasperation at some of the movie's more startling revelations made it all the more real. This is an issue that really hits home with all of us, yet gets little real mainstream discussion outside of the election cycle. Most of the people I saw the movie with seemed to be in their sixties or older - this was in the early afternoon and they wanted to get the jump on the Friday night movie-watching whippersnappers, as did I. I think a lot of people seemed stunned at the parts about how many of our politicians are on the take from health care lobbyists, and for how much. And how many times can you think of seeing a movie and have people give it a standing ovation at the end? Amazing. Big pharma and the HMOs are understandably in a froth about it and all the positive press to it, which amounts to negative press towards them. But Google knows how to protect its client's interests:
…Moore attacks health insurers, health providers, and pharmaceutical companies by connecting them to isolated and emotional stories of the system at its worst. Moore’s film portrays the industry as money and marketing driven, and fails to show healthcare’s interest in patient well-being and care.
…With all the coverage, it’s a shame no one focuses on the industry’s numerous prescription programs, charity services, and philanthropy efforts.
Many of our clients face these issues; companies come to us hoping we can help them better manage their reputations through “Get the Facts” or issue management campaigns. Your brand or corporate site may already have these informational assets, but can users easily find them?
We can place text ads, video ads, and rich media ads in paid search results or in relevant websites within our ever-expanding content network. Whatever the problem, Google can act as a platform for educating the public and promoting your message. We help you connect your company’s assets while helping users find the information they seek.
