This is why I have been a member of the Clark County Animals in Disaster Planning Team (in conjunction with Red Cross, PHS, Police Dept, Fire Dept, Emergency Management, etc.) for almost the last two years. The first step, however, is to have your own plan in place in the event of a disaster. We have a closet devoted to the items we would need to grab quickly for ourselves and our animals in the event of a disaster. Are you ready to evacuate at a moment's notice?
