Not sure what you mean by leaving the Democratic Party. I strongly believe in the the Democratic Party platform and principles that are so easily ignored by its members. The party has left me. And that's been happening ever since Dean's scream. I could write a book on all the reasons why. Last week was just more of the same.

The Democratic Party leaders and electeds do not stand for anything much better than the rest of the Money Party. When the Party and its electeds start representing us I'll participate. Until then, I am not going to sell my soul to the electeds and their servants who put their own self interest before the good of the people.

The parties are serving to perpetuate corruption. By participating, I'm assisting in that corruption.

And I'll keep shouting out my discontent about all of this every chance I get.

BT,
If this all it took to make Ms. Sheehan to quit the Dems then good riddance to her. Are you leaving the Democratic Party as well? How will progressives leaving the Democratic Party help make it more progressive?

This is at least the third post about how the Dems caved on the Iraq supplemental. I don't agree with how the Dems responded to the veto but what's done is done and we need to move on. Enough of this hand-wringing and teeth gnashing over what happened last week. Time to buck up and get ready for the next round which starts in July. Our troops (and many Iraqis, no doubt) are counting on us to keep after it.
