In the wake of the tragedy at Virginia Tech., someone decided to exploit fears of a copy-cat crime and scribe a threatening message on a restroom mirror:
The threat was scrawled in red marker in a restroom on the second floor of the library. The threat referenced the Virginia Tech shootings Monday morning. It included the words, to the effect, if you think that was anything, I’ll be back at 8 p.m.
There were no reports of any injuries. Chancellor Hal Dengerink on Tuesday night said there were no suspects or persons of interest.
Dengerink heard of the graffiti at 5:20 p.m. while driving home from a meeting downtown. By 5:45 p.m., he decided to close the campus.
By 7:20 p.m., most of the campus was evacuated. Custodians and security employees had been handing out letters from Dengerink, announcing his decision to evacuate the campus.
“While this action may be overly cautious, the safety of our campus community has to be our primary concern,” Dengerink wrote.

In light of the situation, Dengerink’s response was entirely appropriate.
I wonder if it was a result of a whack-job with bad wiring in their head or a whack-job who wanted to disrupt the Brandon Mayfield event?
Did any of you attempt to make it to the event?
I hope they find out who did it.
Playing around with something as tragic as those events is really sick.
