Right on, Chris! This is great news. I think Edwards, Obama or Kucinich would do a solid job representing the progressive spirit of the Democratic Party, but having Nader in there to constantly push the real issues affecting innocent people here and around the world will force the Democrat to adjust their rhetoric to triangulate to the left. This can only be good for America, and for Democracy.

And unless Edwards or Obama comes clean about Israel/Palestine, cutting the military budget, charging Cheney and Bush for war crimes, and reopening the 9/11 investigation, I'll probably still vote for Ralph.

Without a parliamentary form of government, 3rd party candidates will always be at the margins.

Nader has his issues too: terrible on women's issues, gay issues ("gonadal politics"), etc.

The Democrats are in the "show me" phase of their 2008 cycle. So far, there's nothing to crow about without meaningful movement on the Iraq front. Once Jack Murtha failed in his bid to become Majority Leader, that basically gave elements within the party the green light to give the middle finger to the out-of-Iraq contingent of the party.
