The Blue Fund aims to do for investors what BuyBlue.org has been doing for consumers: provide the opportunity to deploy our money in a socially and politically responsible way. We have built two mutual funds, a large- and small-cap fund, around core progressive values like active community participation, environmental sustainability and fair treatment of employees. And then we go a step further, investing only in those companies whose political contributions demonstrate a sincere commitment to these values.

We created The Blue Fund so that investors could choose to invest their money in line with their principles and avoid supporting those companies that have poor social records and consistently donate millions of dollars each year to conservative causes and candidates. As US News reported on the launch of our funds on October 17, 2006: “Now you can put your money where you ballot is.”

More than 75% of the companies in the S&P 500 are net contributors to the Republican Party, resulting in a massive financial advantage for conservative candidates.* Now we have an alternative: we can invest in companies led by progressive leaders and progressive principles while continuing to offer the potential for financial returns.

The Blue Fund is currently available through Fidelity, Charles Schwab & Co. (under the name Blue Investment Management), E*TRADE, and Scottrade.
