Boston Pranks, Landmines and Dreadlocks, Oh My!

It’s official, this country’s being run by the dorks that volunteered to be hall monitors during High School. Remember them? It’s the only semi-rational explanation I can think of for this:

The man who sent city and State Police rushing to defuse what they believed were explosive devices around the Boston region was arrested tonight.

Attorney General Martha Coakley scheduled a 9 p.m. press conference to announce the arrrest of Peter Berdovsky, an Arlington artist.

On his personal website, he posted pictures of a small group installing the figures — little square-shaped men frowning and making an obscene gesture — on the exterior wall of a hospital, on the awning of a Cambridge bar, at an Urban Outfitters, and a bridge.

And from Wisconsin:

What Rachel Rasmussen thought was an explosive situation ended without a bang once the Army rolled into town.

Rasmussen, who recently purchased a new home in Wittenberg, thought she had found a land mine in her backyard but discovered Wednesday that it actually was an old base for a large umbrella.

“It looked very suspicious,” Rasmussen said, adding that it was half-buried behind trees and a large rock. “Everyone else I showed the picture to thought it was a land mine.”

Photographs of the object apparently were convincing enough that Fort McCoy dispatched a bomb squad to investigate. But early Wednesday afternoon, the bomb squad determined it was not a land mine or anything else dangerous.

The Fort McCoy team refused to comment, and the two responding Shawano County Sheriff’s Department officers were unavailable for comment.

It’s only fitting that Peter Berdovsky holds a press conference and - at the behest of his lawyer - doesn’t talk about the case, but instead treats the press gaggle like a bunch of circus clowns by only talking about hair-styles and his dreadlocks. It’s especially hilarious when viewed through this Fox News Clown clip and to hear the indignant commentary of the reporters.

Fox News Video is also embedded below the fold.
