Bush 43 is wrong on Iraq and so are Bush 41’s ISG cronies. “When you make a mistake, you should stop making a mistake.” WE NEED A TIMETABLE FOR WITHDRAWAL! Not more endless spin and rhetoric.
History repeats itself. We are now approaching the most dangerous stage of the conflict. Are we going to kill millions more and be killed by the tens of thousands like the Vietnam experience, or are we going to make the obvious and wise decision to admit our mistake and go home?
I’m old enough to remember how long it took our representatives to admit Vietnam was a horrible mistake and eventually withdraw our troops. What makes this different? Does anyone really believe that if we annihilate Iraq, there will be less terrorism in the world? Did trying to annihilate North Vietnam result in less communism? Does anyone really believe that our ongoing military presence in Iraq will help overcome the cycle of violence there that we fomented?
It is time to set aside our egos and our pride and use our common sense. Bring the troops home. Let the Iraqis rebuild their country and determine their future without our continued interference. It is what they want and what we want. The only roadblock is the political will to make it happen.
